International Project Coordinator
Lancaster and Morecambe College (North)
For the past 3 years I have worked with Apprenticeship candidates and employers on behalf of Lancaster and Morecambe College. After receiving feedback from candidates and employers I made some adjustments to our induction process. I developed and delivered an ‘Apprentice Preparation Training Day’ that all potential apprentices complete before they are accepted as a candidate. This employability focussed day provides accurate information, advice and guidance to potential apprentices to ensure they make a fully informed decision about their future career path. The training covers local labour market information, employer expectations and career action planning as well as the practical aspects of employability such as creating their C.V and preparing for interviews.
I am also currently working on an Erasmus+ international project with 6 other EU nations to share best practice in supporting young people in the transition from education to employment. This project will develop a selection of free-to-use resources aimed at supporting young people into employment, assisting Careers Advisors to deliver practical sessions and informing employers on the benefits of employing young people and Apprentices.
